Cerrado Project
A grandiose project in sustainability,
local development and job creation.
Job creation
The Cerrado Project will create 10,000 direct jobs during the peak of construction, as well as thousands of indirect jobs. Once completed, the new unit will employ 3,000 people, including both employees and service providers, and drive the region’s entire economic chain.
Name’s origin
The Cerrado Project was named by Suzano after
the largest biome in Mato Grosso do Sul state to represent
the construction of the world’s largest single-line pulp plant.
Site selection
Ribas do Rio Pardo, a municipality located 100 kilometers from the state capital of Campo Grande, was selected as the future home of Suzano’s most competitive and efficient production unit, given the low carbon emissions estimated after its startup.
Social investment
Under the project, Suzano will invest R$48 million in the areas of health, education, housing, infrastructure, public safety and traffic safety in Ribas do Rio Pardo, in actions selected by the local community.
